Full course description
In this course, you will learn about some common types of insider threats, including intentional and accidental actions of employees, along with some business practices and technical countermeasures to help prevent and protect against an insider attack. You will also learn how an effective employee cybersecurity awareness program can help deter an insider attack with proper methods of reporting suspicious activities, and then some considerations for responding to and recovering from an insider attack.
Course Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:
- Identify some common types of insider threats, whether intentional or accidental
- Describe some standard business practices, as well as security countermeasures, designed to prevent or deter insider threats and minimize risks
- Describe several warning signs that employees should recognize as a potential insider threat, and how they should report their observations
- Describe methods and procedures for a business to respond to a security incident caused by an insider threat
