Course Description:

In this course, you will learn how critical infrastructure is defined, that the majority of critical infrastructure resides within the private sector, and how the federal government has established regulations and supporting organizations to assist the private sector in its protection.  In addition, you will be introduced to the concept of interdependency, and exposed to common threats and vulnerabilities across all 16 critical infrastructure sectors.  Finally, you will have an overview of how to conduct a risk assessment of your facility to establish a security baseline.

Course Learning Outcomes:

Upon successful completion of this course, the Learner should be able to:

•        Identify the 16 Critical Infrastructure Sectors, and to which sector they belong

•        Describe the concept of interdependency and critical lifelines

•        Identify common threats and vulnerabilities facing critical infrastructure sectors

•        Describe the aspects of a security program and how they mitigate common threats

•        Understand the resources available to critical infrastructure operators

•        Conduct a simple risk assessment of their own facility to establish a security baseline
